Eligibility

Each tourist visa subclass has its specific eligibility criteria. Depending on your circumstances, we can guide you with what you will need, to put forward the best Application possible.  

Depending on your nationality or country of origin, as well as your reason for coming to visit Australia, you will need to choose and apply for the right visa subclass.

The main requirements:

show that you are a genuine visitor, which means that you only intend to come to Australia to visit

  • show that you have a strong incentive and reasons to return to your home country
  • provide the purpose and duration of your visit
  • satisfy the character and health requirements
  • have sufficient funds to support your stay and visit in Australia
  • Visitor Visa (subclass 600)
  • ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) (subclass 601)
  • eVisitor (subclass 651)


Visitor Visa (subclass 600)

You must meet the basic requirements, must not engage in work while in Australia, and must be outside Australia when you apply and the decision is made.

Your purpose must not be related to business or medical treatment.

ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) (subclass 601)

You must meet the basic requirements, hold an eligible passport, must not engage in work while in Australia, and must be outside Australia when you apply and the decision is made.

You may undertake some business visitor activities.

eVisitor (subclass 651)

You must meet the basic requirements, hold an eligible passport, must not engage in work while in Australia, and must be outside Australia when you apply and the decision is made.

You may undertake some business visitor activities, or study or train for up to 3 months in some circumstances.
