What is the Global Talent Program?
The Global Talent visa provides a permanent residency pathway for exceptionally talented, prominent individuals with outstanding achievements. It is specifically for high-earning individuals who are globally recognised in the future-focused sectors:
- Resources
- Agri-food and AgTech
- Energy
- Health Industries
- Defence, Advanced Manufacturing and Space
- Circular Economy
- DigiTech
- Infrastructure and Tourism
- Financial Services and FinTech
- Education
This program is designed to help Australia raise its standing in the future focused-sectors, as well as to provide opportunities for Australians through skills transfer, advancing innovation, and job creation.

Eligibility
A proper eligibility assessment to establish if you are a global talent needs to be completed before you submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). Depending on your circumstances, we can guide you with what you will need, to put forward the best Application possible.
Primary Requirements
You must
- have an internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement in one of the following areas:
- a profession
- a sport
- the arts
- academia and research
- have a nominator with a national reputation in your field, who is one of the below:
- an Australian citizen
- an Australian permanent resident
- an eligible New Zealand citizen
- an Australian organisation
- meet the high-income salary threshold or is able to earn the high-income salary threshold, which is the amount set by Fair Work

Global Talent Visa Option
- Global Talent Visa (Subclass 858)
- Live in Australia indefinitely
- work and study in Australia
- enrol in Medicare
- travel in and out of Australia for 5 years
- sponsor relatives to come to Australia
- once eligible, apply for Australian citizenship
